welcome
Traditional training treats horses like commodities and students like barriers to progress. If you’re looking for another way, you’ve found it.
Are you:
New to horses and want to learn things the “right way” the first time?
An intermediate rider feeling stuck with a particular horse or a particular issue in your riding that seems like you’re just not able to overcome?
Dealing with body pain when you ride?
Feeling like you’re arguing with your horse, rather than having a harmonious relationship?
Struggling to understand “trainer jargon” and connect how “they say” it’s supposed to feel with what you’re actually feeling?
Feel unsafe, unbalanced, or like your horse is unbalanced when you ride?
Managing “black box” pain or lameness in your horses?
Feeling like you’re working so hard all the time when you ride?
Frustrated with instruction you’ve received because it just doesn’t seem to make sense, to you or your horse?
“Common problems happen commonly, rare problems happen rarely.”
Peter DeCosemo
While every horse and rider is an individual and needs to be approached as such, there are common themes that can be applied successfully to all horses and riders. Learning how horses and riders function, and applying that knowledge to a training program that addresses the root cause of the concerns (rather than dealing with symptoms), we can once and for all overcome barriers and move forward with confidence.
Whether your goals are recreational or competitive, the process is the same. Create a healthy, functional athlete who can safely do the job you want it to do. Most mistakes are made at the beginning, we take the time to build functional athletes from the ground up.
If you have been wanting to hone your riding skills, develop a deeper understanding of the ins and outs of training your own horses, or if you’ve been confused or concerned by instruction you’ve seen or heard, we can help.
Learn the process we’ve used to create happy, healthy, functional horses and riders.
